What Healing Really Means: The 80/20 Rule, Color Psychology, and Listening to Your Body

Whenever I log into instagram I feel like I have so much I want to create and share but could really care less about the visual that goes along with it and…isn’t that what instagram is all about?!

In my Soul Council call this week they were speaking about colors and what they represent and what we’re attracted to and how we use colors in our brand. All my colors are earth toned. Why? Well, that’s what sings to me. That’s the energy I’m looking to attract and call in more of.
But like really why?! I don’t know that’s the colors everywhere. And I have Canva that remembers the colors and fonts that I enjoyed looking at together but really – nothing more than that.

So, here I am. Writing…in black and white. And maybe there will be a picture that goes with this post.

I’ve been on alignment calls and speaking with a few new prospective clients lately and so many of them are saying the same thing – I’ve done the therapy. I know my traumas. I’m a quick learner and a good student –

But my body hurts so I know I’m doing something wrong.

Can you heal me?

First, there is no wrong. You’re not late. You’re not behind. You’re not messing it up.

Second, I don’t heal anyone. You heal yourself. You have to. I’m a badass but surely not that powerful.

Healing is a weird thing. So many products, courses, trainings state that you can’t make clauses that it heals anything. Which always makes me think – what actually is healing?

My definition: Finding a state of homeostasis – equilibrium – a return to balance – peace.

And healing is surely a dance. There is no start or stop just a constant sway a little here, overcorrect there. That’s why I always teach the 80/20 rule. Or 90/10 if that better serves.

The 80/20 Rule: How Real Healing Actually Happens
The 80/20 Rule is simple:
Make decisions from your highest self 80% of the time.
Eat well. Drink water. Move your body.
Choose people who feel good.
Be mindful of what you consume — through all five senses.

For some people, 90/10 works better.

But the heart of it is this:
Aim Small, Miss Small.
Small changes. Slow shifts.
Consistent, gentle choices that don’t overwhelm your nervous system.
This is how real, lasting healing happens.

& for those looking to heal themselves remember: everything you think, feel, the words and phrases and what you’re drawn to and have an appetite for is all intentional. The colors you’re wearing, the songs and memories that pop into your mind and random moments – all intentional.

Your body keeps the score. Your body remembers everything. It’s wired inside of you.
